Captain Brett has been a fishing freak since age 5. Additionally, he has a multifaceted background encompassing military service, aviation, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Northridge. After dedicating over 20 years to the U.S. Navy as a pilot and rescue swimmer, retiring in 2005, Brett transitioned to a career as a commercial airline pilot with FedEx, where he was employed for 20 years. It was during this second career as a FedEx pilot that he and his wife, Pattie started several businesses in Anacortes, including Highliner Charters, R&R Charters, and Anacortes Whale Watching Tours. In addition to his professional endeavors, Brett serves as the president of Fish Northwest, a non-profit organization committed to promoting fishing opportunities and conservation for Puget Sound recreational anglers. He is also a licensed minister at Christ The King Church in Anacortes. Brett contributes to his community as a board member of Engedi Refuge Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing restorative services to women who have survived sexual exploitation and trafficking. In addition to his life-long obsession with fishing, Brett has a steadfast commitment to service, community involvement, and support for vulnerable populations.
